First of all, I think congratulations<\/em> are in order. You rolled up your sleeves, have a thriving business, and are ready for headshots that represent you as the powerhouse CEO that you are! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having your personal branding shoot done by a professional photographer is one major<\/strong> way to elevate your business presence. People are spoiled nowadays, so it\u2019s more noticeable when your photos aren\u2019t up to standard. Sure, you can take a few pictures on your iPhone, and they\u2019ll turn out pretty decent, but websites filled with selfies will always pale in comparison to the sites with crisp shots from a photographer who knows what they\u2019re doing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My job is all about making you feel good, comfortable, and looking and feeling like your best self. Now, let’s go over some do’s and don’t about what to wear to your session. You\u2019ve got options – and I’m sharing my top 5 tips here today!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to your branding session, keep in mind that the goal is to emulate your brand visually. We want your prospects to see you, your personality, and all the things that set you apart from others in your industry. You can let the creativity roll here, but let’s keep you on brand.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 Tips for your Personal Branding Shoot<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Start by creating a Brand Shoot inspiration board<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    I know you\u2019ve got visions to bring to life, and I want to help. Putting together an inspiration board of pictures that are similar to what you have in mind for your shoot will be helpful for you and your photographer to ensure you\u2019re on the same page.     Your comfort is a priority, but so is being consistent with your brand. What feelings are you trying to evoke? Think about who you want to be known as and what you want to be known for! Then choose wardrobe pieces that will convey that visually! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Are you a sophisticated CEO who wants to rock a blazer and high heels?<\/mark> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Are you a personal chef who wants to keep things casual and dressy?<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. For ladies, think about textures, layers, jewelry, and more.<\/strong> Lot\u2019s of ground to consider!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Keep in mind that you\u2019ll be front and center! For a slimmer look, form-fitting clothes are your way to go. Opting for figure-hugging clothes instead of boxy tops will flatter you the best! Incorporating the right mix of texture will also help create visual interest without taking the attention away from your beautiful face. Try textured tops in solid colors or maybe even lace and ruffles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Adding layers like a form-fitting jacket or slim-fit cardigan is great for creating dynamics while also slimming your arms. Pairing layers with long sleeves are also super flattering in your portraits! Now, when it comes to your jewelry, choose pieces that speak to your style. Go bold or keep it subtle, the choice is yours! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A lot of my advice is the same as it was for the ladies: form-fitting clothes will be the most flattering, long sleeves are the way to go, and add layers and complementary colors. Stay away from patterns as they\u2019ll distract from your face, and bring a collared button-up shirt and suit jacket if you can! Maybe even a white shirt and a dark, fitted jacket. These are *chef kiss*. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. Regardless of what kind of shots we\u2019re getting, bring coordinating bottoms<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Even if you\u2019re only coming in for headshots, it\u2019s better to be prepared! Bring pants or skirts, and matching shoes. That way, if your knees, hips, or anything below the waist are captured, you\u2019re still looking cohesively on point. <\/p>\n\n\n

    Personal Branding Session with Lisa <\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    I had the honor of welcoming Lisa into my studio for her personal branding session, and I was thrilled with how sophisticated and professional these came out! Lisa is an author and clinical psychologist who\u2019s written several books. When she came in for branding photos, we had a blast! She looked stunning<\/em><\/strong> as we got a variety of headshots and portraits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
