Read what one of our amazing 40 over 40 clients, Pavnit, had to say about her Portrait session and why she decided to be part of this confidence boosting experience for women over 40!

A Little About Pavnit’s Background and Life

Pavnit was born in California and raised by strict Indian parents who always stressed that academic success is essential.  She moved away from home for the first time during college and was determined to be a medical doctor but three years in, she realized that becoming a doctor was not her calling. The thing was, she had no life plan beyond that. In Pavnit’s words “My life after that was a series of random events and decisions which I never regretted.”

Living on her own throughout her adult life and letting life take her on whatever path, planned or not, helped her to grow as a person and be ready for any challenge. She still never forgot the work ethic her parents instilled in her, and did end up going into Pharmacy School, and landing a successful career.

Q+A with Pavnit:

Why was being part of this portrait experience for women over 40 important to you?

I made the difficult decision not to have children despite societal pressure. On the one hand, I live my life as I please and sometimes like I was still in my 20s. However, recently, I have struggled with getting older and the changes my body has gone through. I still try to hold on to and strive for the body that I had when I was younger and the inability to do this left me mentally broken and with little confidence.

This portrait experience for women over 40 was my way to reclaim my life back and embrace the positive.

When you look at the final photos, how do you feel?

I feel amazing. I feel like the woman in the pictures is confident, self-assured, and ready to conquer the world!

What advice would you give to your 18 year old self?

It’s ok if life doesn’t go as planned. Sometimes, it was just meant to be and these moments help shape you into something stronger.
