Nashville Professional Business Headshots: Chiropractor
I talk a lot on this blog about beauty, self worth and investing in yourself. Most of the time I am talking specifically to women because we are often given contrary messages about standards of beauty and how that relates to our value. But to be honest, on some level men get contrary messages as well especially around what it means to be a man and masculine. With the rise of social media, there has been a shift in male self esteem in terms of “beauty standards.”
In fact, according to an article on Thrive Global, “26% of men said that they weren’t comfortable with their body — statements were made such as “I would like to be less skinny, only muscular men are portrayed in the media”, “men are always portrayed with six packs in male beauty and grooming adverts”, “I wish I had abs instead of a beer belly”, and “even tiny imperfections on the skin are corrected, which poses unrealistic expectations on both the self-image and desirable partners”.”
To drive that point home, the article also explains that “33% of men agreed that content on social media made them feel negatively about their body in comparison to 72% of women.”
Unrealistic beauty standards are not healthy for anyone – male or female. What I strive for when working with my clients is to show them how truly beautiful or handsome they are right now, in this moment. To own their power and cut out all that negative self talk.
Working with Addison was like a breath of fresh air. His mindset about work, life and self worth is just amazing. We had some great conversations that really made me think deeply about myself and my mission with my portrait studio.
We also had some really great chats about business and systems. If you don’t already know, I love to geek out over productivity and creating systems to maximize efficiency. I want to spend my time with my clients and on things that matter the most and business systems are the key to that. Addison is a wealth of information about all these things and more and I had such a blast learning from him.
One of the things I love most is when clients bring in a variety of looks even for their headshot session. One can be for your professional sites such as LinkedIn or Facebook business page. But a second, business casual portrait can also be versatile. It can be used for dating sites, your personal social media avatars, speaking engagements photos that have a more business casual feel and so much more.
Not only do professional headshots help Addison stand out from his competition, they also give his clients a sense of security and trust that they are working with a true professional. He looks friendly and approachable, like you’d love for your chiropractor to be.
