I’ve been chomping at the bit to share a Glamour Session I did recently with Amy. Not only is she absolutely beautiful but she has a really chill personality, which I love. Plus, I am a sucker for red hair! My sister and I used to try to dye our hair repeatedly with henna to try to get it that Melissa Gilbert red. True story. It would give us reddish highlights but we never did achieve that red hair and that’s probably for the better. I doubt I would be able to pull off that look. Amy was super easy to photograph and we had a ton of fun trying out different looks. I am totally in love with all the portraits we got from her shoot…each one different from the others. Hair and makeup courtesy of the phenomenal Becky Lau.
You can also see more of what Amy works on – she’s an artist in many ways – fashion, jewelry, etc. by checking her out at A Fashion Nerd.
I love the intensity of her expression in this first one:
We also shot in the backlight, one of my favorite ways to shoot when doing glamour:
Amy brought some really fun wardrobe items with her, mostly vintage pieces. This blue dress was fun and very girl next door from back in the day:
Then we had to go all fine art of course! This is definitely one of my favorites from our shoot just because I love everything about it – her expression, the light, the tones, all of it!
This gorgeous lace dress had a lovely low back so we had to show it off 🙂
I’ve been acquiring various pieces of wardrobe for the studio and this is one that I recently bought and was so excited to use. It went perfectly with Amy’s personality and for some reason, I love the combination of the red hair with the super femme tulle skirt.
More of this frilly fun skirt. You will probably be seeing more of it. And I just bought a burgundy one just like it the other day!
Like I mentioned before, Amy brought a really diverse wardrobe and I definitely appreciated that. It gave us more room to play…to mix and match pieces and play dress up. I paired this delicate lace top with a floral crop top and leather shorts. Soft and tough often make a good combination…contrast works really well in fashion and beauty. Leather and lace baby!
One last one that I had to share!
