I loved working with Rebecca for her Nashville branding photography session! She’s a mindfulness coach helping her clients through meditation and forming healthy habits. She’s a one-of-a-kind coach, and was ready to showcase her authentic style and vision! With some planning and collaboration, the final results are edgy, mystical, and professional, which was precisely what she wanted!
So how do you know when it’s time for a brand photoshoot?
I’m sharing the five most common reasons to consider having a brand photoshoot. And I’m also sharing some of the planning process for Rebecca’s session, so you know what to expect for your own photoshoot!
5 Reasons To Consider A Branding Photoshoot
- Consistency & Professionalism
There’s always a time and place to DIY your branding, especially when you’re first starting a new business. But when you reach a certain level, you’ll want to create consistency in your branding, to look more professional and be taken seriously. A customized branding photoshoot can help you achieve both!
2. Showcase Your Authority
When you look professional and consistent, you naturally position yourself as an authority in your niche. When your positioning is on point, you’ll stand out from your competitors, making you the obvious choice! Win/Win!
3. Attract New Audience
One of the most exciting benefits of branding photography is attracting a new audience! If you’re drawing in clients that aren’t aligned, you might need to adjust your brand positioning. Because let’s face it – we all want to work with clients we vibe with.
Branding photography authentically represents your personality and can help attract those dreamy-aligned clients you’re dying to work with (while repelling the ones you’re not head over heels for).
4. Need a Library of Personalized Images for Online Marketing
Consumers want to buy from people they connect with. Stock photos aren’t going to draw in your ideal clients. But you know what will? Authentic pictures of you!
If you’re tired of using stock photos that look like everyone else’s, or outdated photos that don’t really represent who you are, personal branding photography is the way to go! You’ll walk away with a library of curated images that visually tell your story.
5. Re-Branding
These are some of my favorites to shoot because it’s an exciting time for business owners! If you’re planning a launch or want a complete re-brand of your business, you’ll need updated photos to match. In Rebecca’s case, she was in the rebranding phase and wanted her visuals to align with who she is and who she serves.
Nashville Branding Photography for The Mindful Place of Franklin
When Rebecca started her business, The Mindful Place of Franklin, she thought her branding should be light, bright, and airy, like many other coaches. But can you guess what happened? She wasn’t attracting her dreamy and aligned clients.
When she reached out to start planning her re-branding shoot, she wanted to come back to her authentic self and translate that into a brand that looked professional and authentic. She described her brand as a little dark academia, mystical, with a bit of edginess.
What began as a coaching business turned into something more mystical and energetic. What differentiates her from other coaches is that she digs deep to get to the root causes of things. She also offers personalized on-location coaching for individuals and groups!
Some of the services she offers are guided meditations, meditation coaching, group meditation coaching, and magical, intuitive tarot readings. She even offers classes for you and your friends to learn tarot – all from the comfort of your own home!
Rebecca was ready to turn her vision (and evolved business) into a cohesive brand, and boy, did we have fun!
Next, I’ll walk you through the planning process for her brand shoot.
How We Planned This Nashville Branding Photography Shoot
We started with an initial consultation to discuss what Rebecca wanted from her branding shoot. We discussed her goals for the business and branding because it’s all tied together. Once I understood the clients she wanted to attract and the aesthetic she liked, we began brainstorming ideas on Pinterest!
I created a Pinterest board that we collaborated on together. She was able to pin photos and ideas she loved so I could use them as inspiration for her photo session.
Sidenote – if you haven’t used Pinterest to plan a photoshoot, you definitely should! I keep my client planning boards private, and it’s so much fun to collaborate on Pinterest. You can follow me here if you want to see what I’m up to!
Next up, we started planning props and wardrobe!
Rebecca did a great job choosing props to tell her story and showcase her vibe. She brought books, a journal, tarot cards, and we used a little crystal ball to add a level of “mystique” to her photos! The shot of her holding the crystal ball is one of my favorites!
For wardrobe, Rebecca brought edgy outfits but still looked professional. This is something I’m seeing more women embracing during their photoshoots, and I’m here for it! Women are expressing their professionalism and fashion style simultaneously!
The last look we created was in a gown to show her stepping into more of a priestess role to tie in the mystical theme, and she loved it!
And finally – the end results!
Rebecca’s rebranding photoshoot was a success! We created an edgy, mystical, professional vibe, which was the goal all along. Now she is showing up online with photos representing who she is and with who she feels aligned working with.
Her new branding photos are front and center on her website, social media, and other forums she uses for marketing. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the end result!
I know how important branding photography is in my own business, so it holds a special place in my heart to help other entrepreneurs show up authentically for their businesses!
