Mothers are beautiful in a way no one else can be simply because of the sheer amount of patience, dedication, self sacrifice and love to raise a child. I appreciate my mom so much for all the times she’s pushed me and supported me in my endeavors, no matter how crazy. She’s been on my side when no one else has…and she’s always found ways to show me how much she cared. I’m so happy she’s retired now because she has worked so hard her whole life. I mean, talk about superwoman…my mom raised 5 children on a secretary’s salary and managed to make sure all of us were clean, clothed, and fed. My mom made it a point to push us in our education and careers all while gently softening out the rough edges of the world. At one point she was working 2 and 3 jobs just to make sure bills were covered. Somehow she still always found time for each of us. And by far she is one of the most positive people I know. Need a silver lining – talk to mom because that is what she always sees. It is finally her time to enjoy life…she’s taking craft classes and making new friends at a cultural center near our home. For once, I feel like she has time to dedicate to herself.
I have a million stories I could tell you about my mom…how cute she is when she leaves little post-its around the house to remind you of things. “Panckakes in the oven” or “Don’t forget to check your mail” or just simply “I love you.” She is playful and young at heart…often unexpectedly reaching out to tickle me as I walk by LOL! Ummm she calls me a ding dong…not sure why 🙂 but that is her way of saying I’m silly. So many big things…and countless little things…I’d never finish this post if I started listing all the ways my mom is beautiful. There is one story that always makes me choke up…to this day. I remember one day as a child I was having really bad stomach pains. We tried everything – medicine, heat wraps, and the obvious – going to the bathroom haha! But the pain was really horrible and I was doubled over crying. I think I must have been in 3rd or 4th grade. My mom called my aunt who was a nurse at the time to see if she could take me to her home. My aunt lived about 2 blocks away so we walked. About half a block in, I was hurting so badly I couldn’t walk anymore. My mom…my tiny little mom who is barely 4 feet 10 inches tall…picked me up and carried me the whole rest of the way. I know it doesn’t seem far but for me whenever I think about my mom carrying me as a grown child almost her size, I cannot help but get all teary. She has since then found so many ways to carry me through my victories and through my struggles.
Mothers everywhere sacrifice their time, energy, and health for their children. I think it would be wonderful for a hardworking mom to get pampered and dolled up for a portrait session that will always remind her that she is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. As a special gift for this Mother’s Day, I am offering a complimentary 2 hour lifestyle portrait session for a beautiful and deserving mom. See details below on how to enter.
And hey, spread the word!
